Paul Tracy will miss a public relations stop in Toronto by Champ Car World Series drivers tomorrow to go testing in the No. 34 Cicci Racing NASCAR Busch Series Chevrolet in preparation for the Kroger 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park's half-mile oval.

Tracy's NASCAR season has two more stops -- July 29 at IRP and Sept. 2 at California Speedway.

For those who question Tracy's reasons for trying his hand at stock car racing, consider this: In three NBS races this season, Tracy has pocketed $118,305 U.S.

Extrapolate that over a full 35-race schedule and it comes to a tidy $1.38 million.

No bad lolly for a guy who never raced in the 3,400-pound sedans before this season.

And how much is Forsythe paying him?

35 races vs. 15.

That article is utterly :gomer:.

$4M per season was the last I remember. $4M/15 races = $266,667 per race. No wonder he's the only guy with his own motorcoach at the races. Oh, and his living in Nevada and now apparently in Florida would have nothing to do with the tax situation in both states would it?

Assuming his contract stipulates that he gets all the prize money.

Busch is a feeder series. An appropriate comparsion would be to Atlantics, not Champ Car. No?

Busch is more than a feeder series, though.

It's kind of tough to find an analogous situation in OW! It'd be like Atlantics if half the CCWS grid also ran in Atlantics, and if Atlantics ran races as the headliner without CCWS again.

That's true.....and if you finish in rear too many times you're out of a ride. Either he becomes successful or PT's invisible means of support becomes the fodder to separate him from CC and get nascar roots in the great white north....which I believe was the goal all along.
