This is from Aviation Week and Space Technology.

Two-Stage-to-Orbit 'Blackstar' System Shelved at Groom Lake? (http://www.aviationnow.com/avnow/news/channel_awst_story.jsp?id=news/030606p1.xml)

AWST is not a gossip rag, but a very well respected industry publication. I've always been a fan of the XB-70. Nice to think it might not have been the wasteful program that some have said. :)

If it did get shelved, that might account for some of MarkC's recent information. ;)

The XB70 at Dayton is awesome!! What a bird for the time it was built. I imagine it was a bear to taxi since the nose gear was about 50 feet beind the cockpit.

Here's a link to a radio station that has long reported on Groom lake mystery planes.
