Since me and a couple of buds already have our tickets for Monza and we're planning to make it a Monza/Spa two-fer, this story on Spa being cancelled has been met with disbelief and a little anger. One of my party called the track on Friday and was told that the race was to go forward..... BUT.... when she was told that we were preparing to purchase our airplane tickets for our european "adventure", she told Ger to call again on Monday.......
hmmmmm.... I don't like the sound of that! The only other good news on this story that not only isn't it reported on the autosport web site, but it also isn't on Bernies official F1 site (which is offering race tickets and hotels....etc., to all GP's) and Pitpass only states that the FIA says they have no knowledge of Spa's cancellation........

Hoping for the best......

"I have just got off the phone and it looks “ Increasingly unlikely” that a GP will be held this year. She did everything but say it was off but she did say no arrangements for the sale of tickets is taking place and they are awaiting official confirmation from the government."

bummer on a number of levels... but having a trip ruined has gotta be the worst. we did the monza/spa double last year and it was definitely a good time. if you have some flexibility, I would consider a different kind of double instead... DTM @Zandvoort on September 3 and Monza on September 10.
