Wow. Much better looking than the drawing. I like.

Very nice....

off the top of my head....no pop-off valve, and no dip in the middle of the rear wing...think the rear wing in the drawing was an embeleshment, or did they just change their minds? :D

Well the article does talk about them building a baseline for all other tests. Perhaps this is a model of the current rear wing and they'll swap out the newly designed parts as they attempt to better the car?

I...I think I'm going to cry. (what do you think the scale is on that thing? Be sweet to have on a big shelf in the ol' rec room! :) )

It is half scale

Rather ironic don't you think...

Very cool!

Check out the shape of the front wing end plates.

I'm staring at it ... It's a "sexy" looking thing ... All the lines just flow together ... I'm going to enjoy watching this car race!

Very nice. I'm not a fan of high-nose designs, but this model looks better than I'd hoped. Can't wait to see it full size with a coat of paint.

It friggin ROCKS !!!! :D

Like NRC says though, I cant wait to see it in some team colors.

Not alot of room on the side pods for "clean" advertisements \ sponsor stuff.

Now let's see the thing mass-produced in 1/18, 1/25 and 1/43rd scale...

How about 1/64 scale? But I agree, this car is going to be awesome! :)

There is supposedly an "extra cost option" that tapers rearward from the top of the roll hoop for more ad space. So, you aren't the only one thinking that way. :) Just look at one of those '99 Reynard GP Masters cars. Not unpleasant, but I'd rather see CC go without.

Um, let's not forget the 1:1 version. ;)

Ironic isn't the word I'd use...I would have rather that they didn't use his facilities. :(

Because first-class wind tunnel facilities like that are plentiful and easy to reserve

In a couple years they won't have to. There's a new 50 % scale tunnel coming to Indianapolis. For now, though, they don't have too many options.

Stupid of me (I guess) but I assumed that a freakin' chassis manufacturer would have their own wind tunnel. Lola's has got to be available, right? (no joke intended)

Lola has one where, England?
The Penske wind tunnel is on the east coast, the Elan factory is on the east coast. Why haul the model and your people half way across the country if you don't need to. This is all about getting the job done without wasting money.

I'm really not sure about where they're planning to do their testing; I assume since Champ Car is heavily involved in the design that they'd be doing it as close to Indy as possible. And I don't really know if and/or where Panoz has a tunnel, but Lola's would definitely be more expense than necessary, given that it's across the Atlantic.

Penske's tunnel is a lot closer to Atlanta than the one at Swift.

So why has Champ Car pulled the story?

Nothing to add. Very sweet looking. Better than the drawing. I'm very very happy.

Don't care where they test it. Business is business.
