Seahawks, Panthers, Pats, and Colts.

That's about right.

Washington is playing very good defense at the moment and will likely take away Alexander. And Gibbs is Gibbs, but I expect that Seattle will win a tough game.

Bears are playing awesome defense, but I can't see the Bears winning without a little more offense. Either way this one may be won 3-0.

Pats. That's easy. They are in a zone.

I can see the Steelers pulling an upset, and I'd like to see it. Big Ben proved yesterday he can play well in the playoffs, But I don't think a win in likely.

Carson got his **** ****ed up...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10826927/

“On a scale of 1 to 3, it was a 4,” he said. “It was off the chart. It was pretty badly damaged — shredded is the better term.”

The kneecap dislocated when Palmer was hit, damaging tissue around it. There also was some cartilage damage, he said.

“It’s not just like it was a torn ACL,” Paulos said Thursday, in a phone interview from Houston. “It’s a magnitude more difficult to recover from and repair. It can and has ended careers, without a doubt.

however...

“The things that were torn could be repaired,” he said. “They were not torn beyond repair. So he’s got all his parts in there, which is good. We’re optimistic, actually.”

If rehabilitation goes well, Palmer could be running in a couple of months and might be able to play in the first regular season game, Paulos said. The 2006 schedule hasn’t been set.

I didn't think the skins would make it past Tampa. Their D is playing tough but they have ZERO offesive. On the other hand, Alexander has been held to just 4 ypc against teams with a winning season and no one is scared of that.

I'm going with Seatle though as I don't think skins can score the points needed. The Tampa game was a fluke.

Bears over Carolina.

Colts over P'burg.

Denver gets it done at home.

Winners are: Seatle, Chicago, Indy, Denver.

Late Thursday night after conducting a series of media interviews, Paulos, through the Bengals public relations department, released the following clarification:

“I believe and regret that media reports, based on interviews with me, have misinterpreted my view of Carson Palmer’s knee injury. Though the injury was serious, the essential facts remain his ACL and MCL have been repaired. I would consider this a typical MCL-ACL football injury. My comments attributed to me that the knee injury was “devastating and potentially career ending” were meant to describe such injuries in general, not Carson’s particular case.

“I was accurately quoted by the Associated Press that my bottom line is optimism regarding Carson’s prognosis. With a successful rehabilitation program, he has an excellent chance of being medically cleared for play at the beginning of the 2006 NFL regular season.”

As a Colts fan, that game had so many highs and lows in the second half that I thought I was going to hyperventilate a couple times.

I can't count the times I went from crying in my beer to pumping my fist in the air and screaming (in a good way) at my dog.

I'm really kinda bummed out right now.

Congrats to the Steelers. It would have been a bit of an injustice if they lost, but give credit to the Colts too for creating the opportunity of giving themselves a chance to win in the end. 14-2 was great, but 14-3 sux bad.

I guess I'll now have to be AFC-loyal and cheer for the Denver/Steelers winner in XL.

It's all on Manning. That's all there is to it. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn in the first 40 minutes.

They very well may wrap up home field again next year early; I bet they don't sit people again -- at least not the QB.

What a drag. Hope he wins one eventually.

Go Broncos!

You know...

I like the Colts a lot. I really do -- if I ever get enough money I'll buy season tickets.

But I'm to the point now that I cannot stand Manning. His main quote today is that he wasn't going to point fingers, but they had protection problems. Are you kidding me? You stood in the pocket and danced, overthrew with no pressure, held the ball too long -- and you're going to pick on your offensive line who almost never lets you get sacked?

Sorry bud, with all the weapons you have, you should KILL a blitz.

Sigh.

I wouldn't put it all on Manning. Backs missed chip blocks, linemen didn't slide properly to protect the blitz, receivers didn't adjust routes in response to the blitz.

They got outcoached and they looked rusty. That much layoff is too much for a timing team. Agreed they will not likely sit people next year if they clinch early.

I'm not a fan of Manning (Peyton that is, Eli case is still out), nor am I a fan of the Colts, but I do feel badly for Dungy given what happen to his son. I noticed Ben and Cowler went out of their way to find him and say something nice to him after the game.

Those pictures really don't do him justice. I think that was the reasoning for the Bears jumping over the pile and tackling him, not just to strip the ball when he took a knee.

His reasoning was because I am tied for 2nd place, 2 points behind him. So if we pick different teams, 1 of us is guaranteed to win. But he doesnt want me to win, so he'll pick the same as me just to spite me.

Is there a bird called Steeler?

This reminds me of the time I cheated while playing a game of scrabble. This was before the internet and the scrabble dictionary was the only way to verify words. I was going to a friend's house to play and I was supposed to bring the dictionary. Which I conveniently forgot. During the game I found myself with some challenging letters. I played the word "Qaxza", which was immediately challenged. I was going to rack up over 90 points with a triple word. With no dictionary available, I suggested calling my friend Fred to verify. What no one knew except me, I had arranged things beforehand with Fred. Whatever word I told him I had spelled, he would confirm it as a real word. Everyone was extremely impressed. The next day I got an indignant phone call from another player who had tried to find my word. My cheat was revealed but I had had my moment.

It was to be a South American game bird found only in the Amazon.........

:)
