Surely there are a few tongue jokes in here someplace. ;)

Well, I was just thinking they could use his tongue to tow the cars. :)

There should at least be some CHuck Norris quality jokes about Gene and his tongue. :p

OK, Gene, let me explain it terms you might understand...

The IRL is a "formula car oval racing series" this is analogous to an "all girl heavy metal band".

You see, the audience for formula cars tends to prefer road-racing, technology, and is not averse to an international roster of drivers. However, the audience for oval racing tends to prefer "retro-tech" and a huge emphasis on "driver heroes" preferably Americans.

Likewise, the audience for Heavy Metal tends to be overwhelmingly male, and though they may be mostly hetero, these guys don't really take girls seriously as "metal musicians". Meanwhile, females won't really listen to an all-girl metal band because many girls tend to prefer more dance/pop music.

Ever seen a successful all girls metal band? Ever seen a successful formula car oval series? There it is Gene. (BTW.. "Alive" is one of my favorite albums)

CART was successful on ovals.

Maybe he's working on a KISS/IRL album. Going by the titles, here are some songs that could be included:

"Nothin' to Lose"
"Rock Bottom"
"Baby Driver" (A tribute to Marco)
"Plaster Caster"
"Hard Times"
"Easy As It Seems"
"Danger"
"Young and Wasted"
"All Hell's Breakin' Loose"
"Trial By Fire"
"I'm Alive"
"When Your Walls Come Down"
"Good Girl Gone Bad"
"Betrayed"

Odd choice. Not much biz going on in the IRL lately. More like charity work ;)

It's community service related to an unfortunate codpiece incident during a recent concert in Indy.

Knowing Gene Simmons, he doesn't spend a penny unless he gets 100 in return. Either he is talking about a one race sponsorship deal, getting the KISS logo on a car, which he can then sell diecast models of at triple value, like he did with NASCAR and NHRA, or KISS will be confirmed as the entertainment during the 497.5.

Could KISS do the "Star Spangled Banner" Worse that Aerosmith ???

Doesn't Gene sell "KISS Coffins" on the KISS web site ... Maybe the the IRL is buying excess stock !!

No! No! No!

This only makes sense if the reporter wrote down Gene Simmons instead of Richard Simmons.

A much more demographically appropriate media figure to represent the IRL. :gomer:

So he wanted to find out what not to do to run a successful racing business?

It looks more like he needs to do community service...
