Hi Guys,

I know there are some real computer gurus that hang out here. I replaced my hard drive today because the old one had bad sectors and was ready to fail at any time. So I backed up all my important files to cd. I even backed up my outlook. I saved it to a PST file. Now I reinstalled outlook and am tring to open the pst file (import) and it wont let me saying I dont have permissions? weird .. I did upgrade to outlook 2003 from the previous version (2002??)

Any ideas?

Make sure that the profile that you are in when you are importing your pst file is an admin profile. If you created multiple profiles on your reformat, you may be in a user profile that doesn't have the proper permissions.

I think it's included with your install.

Right. When you put the Outlook disk in you will be prompted to Remove or Repair a detected install.

Best way to replace drives or do backup is this

Back up boot and data drives to an external and it makes installing new drives easy. Great product.

I’ve had the same problem; I copied the .PST from the cd disk onto my hard drive and then did an import.
