From a post by bmalec over at the Champ Car forums:

Not sure if this was common knowledge already, but I just got my quarterly newsletter from CDW (I work there), which had this following tidbit:

"CDW is signing on with RuSPORT to be the title sponsor of the #9 car with driver Justin Wilson for the 2006 and 2007 seasons."

Thank you to all who wrote kind notes to CDW when they were sponsoring the car through the Canadian races!

Great news! IIRC CDW started out only representing the Canadian part of the company and only sponsoring the Canadian races. Evidently they liked what they saw. :)

Great news!

I didn't know a car had a "title" sponsorship.

I assume "title" means "major", as opposed to "associate".

Humor my stupid question, what does CDW do?

They sell computer stuff (and other office electonics). I think their target market is businesses and IT departments, as opposed to being a discount house for your average consumer.

CDW bought out Mac Warehouse and they are one of the larger Macintosh related gear suppliers. They have good prices for individuals too.

I buy all my tech stuff for my company (toner, tape backups, hard drives, etc.) from CDW. They are a good company. I was glad to see them sponser CC.

Seems odd that there's nothing about it on the Rusport or Champ car sites yet.

Probably cause they have not officially announced it yet and cdw did a boo boo by releasing it in their employee newsletter before hand. *shrug*

It was the guys first post, so it might be BS.

But I like Cart4Live2003's explaination better. ;)

I also note the wording is 'is signing' rather then 'has signed'.
