Kinda surprising. IRL website takes some jabs at Danica through this little joke about wedding gifts.

irl website (http://www.indycar.com/news/story.php?story_id=5671)

For Patrick

*
An “I’m With Danica” T-shirt for her husband.
*
Full treatment, including hand massage, at the Jaques Lazier Day Spa.
*
A longer clutch pedal for her IndyCar Series car.
*
Target gift card (sign it “from Ryan Briscoe”).
*
Complete set of Andretti Green Racing autographed and framed driver photos.
*
A colossal (fake) diamond ring given to her intended to slip on her finger. Oh, that’s right, her engagement ring is larger than any gag gift.

Not really surprising, they're not really funny.

But to their question "What does one give an IndyCar Series driver, a well-paid and jet-setting professional athlete who has or has access to just about anything, for a wedding gift?"

Her first win? :gomer:

i was going to suggest a podium... a win is too much for a wedding gift... it's more of an anniversary type thing.

Not even a chuckle. Who are the idiots that make this stuff up?

Wedding: Podium (borrowing from rosawendel above)
1st Anniversary: Pole at Indy
2nd Anniversary: Podium at Indy
3rd Anniversary: Win (non-Indy)
4th Anniversary: 2nd at Indy
5th Anniversary: Indy Win and Playboy spread.

Of course, any part of this plan is subject to
1. The IRL existing in 5 years
2. The arrival of any Danica Jr's.

Who are the idiots that make this stuff up? The same ones that are responsible for everything else. This kind of stilted dopeyness permeates everything about that series. You have to wonder who they think their target audience is.... :shakehead

You almost got it right, you don't do a Playboy Spread when you are on top of the world, you do one when you aren't.
8th Anniversary: Bumped her way in at 5:58 on Sunday, got lapped lap 6, dropped out lap 11. Finished 32nd.
9th Anniversary: No ride at Indy. Playboy spread.
10th Anniversary: Racing school named after her.

Judging by the complete lack of humorous content, I'd say they have their target audience pretty much nailed.

Oh man, can you imagine that? If that issue would come out, all posting at TF would cease...... for 10 or 15 minutes. And then resume, slowly at first and a little more cheery. :gomer:
