What year is that 911 and how much horsepower does the RUF have?
He's steering that thing with his foot! 90% of the crossups look to be him just having fun ather then by nessecity. Cool stuff.

No kidding. He takes many of those corners like he's driving a dirt modified at Williams Grove :)

Must not be paying for his own rubber

Dood is whacky ! :saywhat:

1st off - it must be a late 80's 911, check the steering wheel, doesnt appear to have an airbag, and I couldnt see the shifter that clearly, but it seems to be a BIG 4 speed, or a 5 speed at the most (dogleg shifter down to the right is 5th, correct ? - reverse is up to left ???? )...

Must be nice to have a buddy follow you in a helo - to get some video of you taking a lap !

Dude was having a ton of fun, and passed hardly any other cars on most of the tape... Camera position under the car, and on the passenger side, as well as interior cam and windshield camera. Was this for a TV show, or something else. Seems a bit extravagant for just a dood taking his car for a hot lap ?

Hans Stuck video in the M3GTR was UNREAL - this guys just having fun ! :D

A lap at the 'Ring would be a blast...

KelvisPlus, I never saw him use his turn signal once!

Indyfan beat me to the punch.

Cool vid, but I do this all the time. No safety equipment, hell, an opened beer sitting by my side. NeedForSpeed: Porche Unleashed.

Of course, I hit stuff though.

I can speak a little bit of German, so I will give the best summary I can of his communication, which is pretty much what you would expect in English.

After the wreck he gets on the radio and tells his crew that he has suffered a rollover accident, gives his position and tells him that he is off on drivers left, and he says that he thinks he is ok. (He happened to wreck just past the Carosell (sp?) for reference.) I can't tell you the conversation between the corner worker and the driver. When he takes the steering wheel off he drops some curse words, and then I believe the crew asks for some background on the accident. The driver replies that a tire (raeder) blew out on him and then the barrier caused him to rollover.

Like I said, it is pretty much what you can see from the video.

Marc Besseng is the driver of the roll over: He crashed at the Hoche Acht right after the Karussell. I can't believe the thing wengt over so easily. This is what the car looked like before the crash: http://20832.com/images/2005/051008_r/20051008104625_jan.jpg

The yellow Porsche in the video is indeed the 469bhp CTR Yellowbird, Stephan Roser is doing the driving. When I did my 25-laps at the Nurburgring in 2003 as part of the Zakspeed school, an newer RUF Yellow Porsche was flying around there. The guy past me like I was stand still in full drift. It was the single coolest thing I've ever seen!

The best onboard is Hans Stuck in a M3 GTR out on the Ring with what appear to be regional like drivers. Some of the passes are heart stopping. Can you spell Wolf among sheep! He passes one guy on the final long 4K straight and you know this guy in the VR6 is flying himself and Stuck goes past him at what looks to be well over 300KPH. You can almost hear the other guy say, F**K ME!

I down-loaded it from fastdrive.org

Pretty stupid if you ask me. It doesn't take more then a few curbs before you cut a tire...

Yes your right and there was one guy in a turbo 993 who signaled and then went the wrong way (!) as Stuck is just about to mash the loud pedal and go that same direction it appeared! Boy that would sure put a few large spots in my underware if it happened to me. Seems like everyday driving to Stuckie. Like father like son I guess.

Just like me on GPL. Except he's not cartwheeling through the trees on fire...

I saw that video on a TV show a few years ago - he's a local legend with a few kazillion laps there (obviously!), but I can't remember the rest of the story. It was either on Speed when it was still cool, or on ESPN when it was still interesting - both were so long ago it's hard to remember now. :(
