1 Tonis Kasemets 2:02.059
2 Andreas Wirth 2:02.803
3 David Martinez 2:03.131

7/10s quicker than P2 and a full second faster than third

Now *that* is domination. Big 's for TK, even if it's coming a little late for the title :(

Not a whole lot different than last year actually:

1 Ryan Dalziel 1:59.504
2 Jon Fogarty 2:00.148 0.644
3 Andrew Ranger 2:00.509 1.005

2.5 seconds slower this year....is the weather different, or did the cars change or something?

I would hazard a guess that the engines are not as screamingly high-strung this year, in an effort to keep costs down.

Weather is probably different as well.

You are comparing first practice to final qualifying.
The first practice times were roughly the same last year.

I was just surprised that today's splits of -.7 and -1.0 were almost exactly the same as last year's qualifying splits

Actually those are first qualifying times, cameraman.

Oh yeah. They are a bit slower this year.
The first to third over 1 second difference is very consistent from session to session. I find that surprising.

Last year's first qualifying:
1 Ryan Dalziel 1:59.743
2 Jon Fogarty 2:00.247
3 Andrew Ranger 2:00.830

-1.087 first qual, -1.005 second qual in 2004
-1.072 first qual in 2005

I'll be more interested in comparing NEXT years times...how much faster do you think the 2.3 Cossies will be? Geez, I clearly remember (but I can't recall WHEN! :gomer: ) Mario hit a 1:57 at RA in the "big" cars. Now that I think about it I can recall the first 2:30 sec. lap at RA too! Crikey...anyone care to guess who THAT was? :)

It better be a good race today. I'm paying $45 today with only one race on the docket I'm 100% interested in.

Katherine had an AWESOME start today, but I was so happy to see Tonis win. He was so hyper and happy on the podium. I was also happy to see Katherine finish second and Dan di Leo finish third. And that was Dan's first TA race! Would have liked to have seen Antoine finish the race though. Does anyone know what happened? Did he have contact or did he lose it?

ยท Lap 15 - #3 BESSETTE is in the gravel at Turn 1 after battling hard with #54 DI LEO for third place. #3 BESSETTE is forced to retire due to contact.
