About as opposite from San Jose as you could get.

Anyone got a track map?

I want to see the latest group of medium straights with super slow to slow corners that the great Tilke has inspired us with this time.....

K... First Thoughts:

- The track is really wide, so i doubt turn 11 is spectacular, nothing eau rouge type.

- And how is turn 8 only one corner when you have 4 different apex angles working in it? Especially since turns 5 and 6 are, well, turns 5 and 6?

- Turns 13 and 14 are a joke. You have a very long straight with a great passing oppertunity into 12. Then you follow it up with 2 garbage corners ensuring there isn't alot of speed in the front straight into turn 1. T12 should be a slow corner for the dive pass, followed by a straight that leads into a slight bend onto the front straight. The dive pass at 12 could be countered by a driver drag racing down to 1.

Alonso
"the circuit is challenging, with blind entries to corners at turns 1 and 3, plus a really unusual, difficult corner at Turn 8, which is different to any other track."

Heidfeld
"It just has a lot more bumps than we expected, especially in the high speed sections, which is a bit unusual for a new circuit."

Liuzzi
""Turn eight, the high-speed corner, is really fantastic to drive. The section of track after the corner is so long that you really start feeling the G force, which squishes you a bit in the car. As a driver, that's an awesome feeling. It's such a great corner - you know you'll get into it okay, but you don't always know if you're going to get out so well on the other side!"

T12-T13-T14 is a smaller version of the T3-T4-T5 complex. :p

Also, why not push T10 up a bit so T9 can be a fast corner leading to the back straight?

Does it have elevation changes?

Looks like a heckuva mess @ the back of the grid:

Sato’s penalty has also given the FIA a headache as it tries to determine the grid order. He has had his time disallowed, Jacques Villeneuve didn’t do a time, Michael Schumacher didn’t do a time and has a 10-place penalty for an engine change, and Narain Karthikeyan didn’t do a time and has had two engine changes!

Apparently even the FIA is struggling to work out how to line these guys up at the rear of the field…

Nice to have all that runoff area, they're gonna need it from the looks of practice and quals. On the other hand either Tilke forgot that once the track marbles in it could be 200ft. wide and you still couldn't pull offline to pass, or he has a friend in the local paving business.

I've they provided a feed showing only on-board views of the cars through turn 8, I'd be there.
