I am normally good at not getting these things, but holy crap have I got an annoying one this time. It is the WinFix worm and I am having the hardest time getting rid of this thing. There are some suggestions on internet websites to get rid of it, but let me tell you they are way above my head. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this piece of trash, and if so, how can I get rid of it. Pop-ups and spyware non-stop and I have been in safe mode cleaning things up and two separate occasions. I would warn everyone here to be cautious in the coming weeks when opening any links because this thing might rear its ugly head.

http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5

I also use mozilla firefox. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Good Luck. This is the best thing I ever did, I have zero issues now.

Ad-Aware and other Spyware programs have no effect. I think it might be time to get my parents computer on Mozilla.

Well, I solved the problem. All I did was just reformat the entire thing. There isn't much on the parents computer so it didn't do a whole in terms of disrupting stuff. I should have just did that last night and saved myself eight hours of work.
