Anyone want to go to Grand-Am at Mid-Ohio on the 27th? $25, including paddock pass (before the 24th). RaceGrrl and nrc, if you go, I'll buy your tickets. ;)

It is a real shame that I didn't get to meet up with Railbird at this race. :(

Would you throw in a free barf bag? Thanks, but no thanks.

Hey Sean, If you see her, could you tell Michelle how much I miss giving her and her concessionaires a bucket of my cash every August.

I intentionally don't drop a dime while I'm at that track, and my tickets to all events are free.

I'll make it if there's drifting.

Last weekend at Portland there were no drifter cars left running by the final session, so we were spared. Actually, I think the drifters were spared, because the looks I saw on the faces of the corner marshalls suggested that there could be trouble if they tried to go back on the track again....

I helped pick up after the mess they left during the Champ Car weekend... they brought six cars, I think every one was severely damaged by Sunday afternooon.

Well, this time two of them (the last two running, in fact!) bodyslammed one another at the exit of 12. One took off again, doing an Exxon Valdez down the track. The other looped it around and came down the old pit lane backwards. The corner workers did not look amused...

Is anyone amused when drifting is on track?

We're event fans. That's why we went to the event in Cleveland and we'll be flying out to the event in Las Vegas.

If we wanted to see "participant driven racing" at Mid Ohio we'd go in September.

30,000 fans in the stands at Daytona and 20,000 on the hills at Barber Park... seems like some folks are catching on to "participant-driven" road racing. :)

Those are raceday numbers, btw.

Hey Sean,

My wife and I will be there. 'Bird and I had planned on going to this just because we've never been to a Grand-Am race and this seemed like a good opportunity. I will be there with my wife and 'Bird will be there in spirit!

Anyone who is going to MO has to say hi to Joey Hand, if possible. He's such a nice guy. :)

So I've got like 25 pairs of 2 tickets each for the weekend, if anyone is interested, let me know. They are free, obviously.

And most of them ended up going to very enthusiastic people. Including some here, to people I did not expect to hear from. I'll let them remain anonymous so they aren't burned at the stake. :)

It was the "pairs of two" statement I was poking fun at, Captain Redundant. :D
