BROOKLYN, Mich -- There's something to be said about a smaller crowd at an auto race.

...

Fewer people also means easier access to concession stands and toilets, which is important to everyone, including Sam Hornish Jr. He was fifth in his No. 6 Dallara/Toyota for Marlboro Team Penske on Sunday.

Hornish had just finished with driver introductions when nature apparently called. He ran across the infield, climbed the wall and headed through the pits and into the nearest public john.

Didn't Tony Stewart have a similar moment during a rain delay at IMS? ;)

Sam was just dumping those extra few ounces needed to get a few thousands of a second advantage.

He ran across the infield, climbed the wall and headed through the pits and into the nearest public john. Sounds like Wilma's Choke & Puke is still serving those roadkill track omelettes... :gomer: Aside from being a track breakfast tradition it gives the locals something to enjoy during the winter months. Folks around Jackson will be playing back their tapes of Hornish running across the infield, climbing the wall and heading through the pits and into the nearest public john for months.

If few is good, is none better?

I guess they already tried that at Phoenix :gomer:
