Sascha and Lucas, one of my favorite duos from their days destroying the competition in ALMS GT, are back together after having been apart for a while. They'll drive the Penske Porsche P2 at PLM and Laguna, being joined for the Petit by Emmanuel Collard.

Awesome. Should be great to see the Porsche and two fantastic drivers putting it through its paces on the track (and hopefully in person to boot).

Pretty much the worst-kept secret in motorsports this year. I think everyone knew something was up when those two didn't have full-time rides at the start of the year.

Porsche + Maasen + Luhr = steamroller.

Now let's get Pat Long in the 2nd car in '06!

It would be nice if they had more than, on a rare good day, three other lmp2s to run against. There have been five races so far this year and no p2 team has made it to more than three.

I understand your point, but that's not true: Miracle has been at all 5 races. Intersport only missed Lime Rock, and that was only because the car was tied up in customs too long to get it prepared for the race. BK only missed Sebring.

Penske will be @ PLM & Laguna, as likely will Horag-Lista's new Lola. Binnie and Kruse have also expressed interest in at least PLM. I think by then, we'll be in for a decent P2 race.

You're right. The ALMS web site really needs to differentiate between not finishing a race and not running at all in their season points summary.

Not finishing races has been the strong point of the P2 class all year.

I couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry when B-K Motorsports won while sitting in the gravel trap.

It almost becomes compelling just to see if a P2 can actually finish a race.
