... Fernandez spent part of last weekend at Chicagoland Speedway watching Hendrick Motorsports' Busch Series team in action. Fernandez will run four Busch races with the team later this year. He'll make his oval track debut at California Speedway in September, then run at Texas, Phoenix and Homestead, Fla., in November.

 The earl 2006 and beyond is looking more & more like a modern day version of "The Grapes of Wrath". Everyone packing up and heading south to Nascarland in hopes of a job to pay the bills and a new life.

Well, what else can you do after ruining the land that fed you for years? According to the likes of Penske, Ganassi, Rahal, Andretti, and Fernandez the answer is to move on to some place that looks fat and prosperous and ruin that land as well. They did it before and will try it again.

Nothing like a little good karma.

Sory for Tom Anderson though, he was one of the good guys just wanting to own a team and it (irl) was the cheapest way to do it. Thank God for T.A. and Morris or fatassi woulda NEVER won the CART titles they did. Want proof? What have they done sine the two of them left?

Fernandez could have easily stayed in Champcars. But, Tecate wanted to leave when they lost the Monterey Mexico title sponsorship deal to Corona. Which, if I remember correctly sponsored a car in Champcars, owned by one of the owners of champcar? Hum....So, before laughing at the earl's problem, let's start looking a little bit at champcar's problem. BTW, where is the Corona car now?

When did Corona ever title sponsor Monterrey? It has alwas been a Tecate/Telmex deal. Tecate has also stepped up their at the track presence at other CCWS events. Also, remember how quickly Tecate and other sponsors started shrinking signage and then dissappearing from Fernandez's car until he was down to Visit Mexico.... get real Fio.

As for the Corona car, maybe Rudolfo's mommy decided to stop wasting money on his "driving"?

Exactly. Tecate switched from team to event sponsorship. They were on the way out, and FAF scrambled for a chair. He got pizzled that Slodolfo and his bought ride ended up w/Forsythe, so he bolted to suck on the Yen teet. FAF! Too bad Tom Anderson is associated with that Yen whore.

Fernandez wanted to stay, he even started testing at Sebring and everything in 2004. Something happened with Corona and Tecate. Something to do with a series owner having a car sponsored by Corona. If your sponsor wants out, then you do what your sponsor wants, and Tecate wanted out.....

I can’t save Champ Car on my own… and I had to look at the facts that were presented by OWRS and decide if we wanted to take the risk and move forward based on empty promises and a “trust us” mentality. Long Beach was not close to what I expected, and we made our decision then, after talking with our sponsors, to go to the IRL.

Too bad. So sad. It purely sucks to be him. Guess he just chose wrong. Looks to me like he's going to be teats up come 2006. Maybe he can be tire changer on a Toyota Busch team... since he's grown to getting yen checks.

What did they do after they switched from being #1 at Honda, and then going to TRD power and getting a big fat check ? Montoya drove those Toyota engines into the ground, Morris got his own team.... Cheep got fatter and had better food at his hospitality suites and a larger Prevost to haul his bigger ass and ego around....

Penske became #1 at Honda, won two titles and Cheep went twirling and earling....

You could not be farther from the truth. What happened was Tecate found out how much Gigante was paying Rahal and the performance they were getting out of their deal. Tecate then looked at how much they were paying and the perfromance that fernadez was doing and so they scaled back on money to FAF and moved some to Race promotion. So FAF got greedy and put tecate on a smaller part of his car even though it was equivelent to a full sponsorship for another team.

Honda came along and he bolted and his Mexican sponsors got pissed because he was not racing in Mexico anymore so they did not renew for this season.

Tecate realized that FAF was milking them once he became a team owner.

Andrain made tens of millions over the years through merchandise in mexico and Tecate.

To answer the question, the Corona money went to Superbikes and Soccer.

Fernandez and Rahal making their quick exits coincided with Honda "encouraging" their teams to focus on the IRL.

Adrian made up some story about doing what was best for his sponsors - but if you compare the cars, there was only one change in sponsorships. Adrian's helmet visor said, "HONDA" on it. Interestingly, Rahal's additional car also lacked sponsorship - until Centrix got a full season deal for Indy Only money. Who funded the rest?
