Yes, that would be cool. Except it wouldn't be the hassle of being pulled over every half mile whenever you encounter a cop. Or the constant paranoia you'd have of some cell talking Durango (or whatever SUV) driving loser not seeing you sitting at a stop light as he drives over your backside.

Eye catching, but in the end not very practical.

In the past I've been sorely tempted by some of the ex-works Group B world rally cars from the early 80's that have been listed for sale. Having a 500hp AWD car that weighed under 2500lbs and was street legal would be a serious grin. They generally sell in the $30K range if they are in good shape. I favor the Peugot 205, Lancia 037 or Renault R5. As Mansell proved these cars were able to keep up with the F1 cars of the day and the R5 uses a detuned version of the Renault F1 engine of the era. :thumbup:
