I live in Norwalk, CT

I've been buying exclusively at the Shell station and I use V-Power. I believe that's their highest octane. I paid $2.54 on June 29th and yesterday the price was up to $2.67. Today it's $2.69.

What are the gas prices in your area? It's gotta be higher on the west coast.

$2.20 a gallon for 87 Octane here in Mankato. I should have filled up five days ago because it was only $2.05 then. I saw $2.12 a gallon in Iowa yesterday, but that was for the subsidized 89 octane with 10% ethanol. I don't see prices going anywhere in the near future, and my guess is that the city will have to put extra locks on the gas pumps if prices get over 2.25, which is the absolute highest I have seen in my four years there.

I don't usually worry too much about gas prices, but a $0.15 increase in 12 days seemed kind of excessive. My boss was telling me that his home heating oil will increase by $100 a month if he renews with his current supplier. That's a lot of money.

Here in Indy, it seems to depend on what day you put gas in your car. For the last year or more, the price could go up or down as much as 20 cents a day or more. I'm not kidding. And all the stations in the area where I live pretty much follow suit quickly.

For instance, I could fill up and pay $2.20. The next day, it could be $2.05. Two days later, it could be $2.30. Then two days later, $2.02. Today, I think, it was $2.22.

2.37 and 2.45 for V-Power at couple stations I went by this morning just west of Houston. The two stations are about 2 miles apart, the one charging 2.45 has no other station within a mile. The other has four competing stations with a couple blocks. I usually fill up at the one currently charging 2.37. I'm not looking forward to the next time I half to fill up the X5 :saywhat: .

I paid $2.33 in my neighborhood for 89 octane, no competing stations but beer is $10 a 12 pack!! Fairfield, 290 and Mason. FM 2920 and FM 2978, just east of Tomball 89 was going for $2.45.

I haven't hit $40 a fill up yet in my Tacoma but by the end of the summer I'm sure it will happen.

I checked another Shell station today and the V-Power was $2.79. Needless to say I used the lowest octane instead which was priced at $2.57. I'll have to see if my regular Shell station raised their price also. I'd imagine they did since both are strategically located near I-95.

$3.19 for diesel today. Riverside California.

That's not the bad thing, going 5th Wheeling in the Sierras this weekend. Nothing like towing around 31' and 12,000 lbs when prices are high.

I'm not complaining because I anticipate that gas will be in the $3.00 range before too long on a regular basis. Our family has 3 four cylinder cars, including 1 hybrid, 1 six cylinder, and the big diesel truck. It's not like people should be clueless about gas and prices after one oil embargo and two wars on oil rich land.

$1.25/Litre for 98 RON Is that Oz dollars or USD? If it's Oz dollars, that's equal to $3.65 UDD per US gallon. If you already converted to USD it's 4.73 per gallon. Either way, you win in this dicussion... :D

After checking an australian website for prices there, they're paying USD$3.65/ gallon. Where I'm from its about USd$5/gallon , in the UK its about $6.20/gallon.

The difference in the prices is the tax levied on the fuel. Car journies are relatively short here, and there isnt the necessity to run air conditioning in the cars either.
