Oil at $59 bbl today and headed toward $50. Makes me wonder if we'll see $12oil again.... National average on gasoline at $2.22 and in free fall. Not often in life are you gonna see a fall of a $1/gallon in a single month as we just did.

Gold, silver, and Oil will bankrupt many as it drops to the floor, bringing dumb investors to their knees. Oh yea, oil is gonna go to two hundred you say. Hey, it is your money, go ahead and gamble it like a moron. It will start dropping back down on its way to 34 bucks a barrel by year's end (it will eventually get to 34, not at years end, but heading towards it on its way down.) As for gold and silver, if you buy it now you are really stupid.

Fuel is the lowest I have seen it in more than 12 months....doing the conversions....
Was full price at AU$1.229/L (but with Woolworths 4c/L and another 4c/L for spending $5 in the store I got it down to AU$1.149c/L)...so that works out at US$3.05/USG

Yes, gas is cheaper now, but now everything else is much more expensive. Groceries are up at least 50%, and I spend far, far more on food than I do gas.

I think $2.21 was the lowest I saw regular/87 for today...
I'll run until the low fuel light comes on... It may be $2.19 by Thursday around these parts.

On another note: our Vegas trip planned for Christmas week may be a whole lot more affordable in the G-35 now that premium is below $2.50. One of the only areas that $50 buys more than it did 6 months ago, IMHO.

Oh yeah, if I didn't tell you all about it before, I bought my wife an '08 G-35 about 6 months ago... It's an AMAZING car!!

Oil prices slid closer to a new multiyear low Thursday because of growing doubts that the $789 billion stimulus package will reinvigorate the economy and demand for energy.

Retail gas prices, meanwhile, reached a new high for 2009 on Thursday and appeared headed back to $2 a gallon as refiners cut back on production.

Light, sweet crude for March delivery tumbled $1.96, more than 5 percent, to settle at $33.98 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract has closed lower every day this week.

Here is a different story on why gas prices are going up as oil prices go down:

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/090215/gas_prices_unhinged.html

I'd have to paste most of the article to properly explain. So quick summary:

Oil price on NYMEX = West Texas Oil
East coast refiners use foreign oil which is more expensive
West Texas oil was generally more expensive so no one bothered to build pipelines to get it out of the midwest
Now it's piling up and cheap with low demand

(This would explain the gas price map at gas buddy.)
