If it's true (http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_2714463), then shame on him (it would explain a lot of things though). Even if it isn't, it's not going to be easy to recover.

Here's hoping this doesn't impact Clint's career.

Sounds like he went to the John Menard school of sponsorship accounting.

Wow, what a horrible shame. Jon and the Intersport boys are paragons of class in the American Le Mans Series. I can hardly believe this is true. We haven't heard Jon's side of the story yet... but another part of me is screaming "this is sports car racing history repeating itself, again."

:( :(

Sorry, but like John Paul Jr before him, I won't be boo hooing Clint's loss of a career. Both of them had the luxury of driving cars bought for (it appears in this case) illegally. I'd much rather root for a driver who has moved up the ladder without the help of illegal funds.

If this is true, these guys are Scum, and the lowest form of life ... It would have been better to Gamble the money away at a Casino, at least their intent then would have been the hope of Increasing their money, and the Contractors may have been paid...

Instead it appears they never had any intention of paying the contractors ... so people lose their jobs, and the loss of income spreads over the profit margin of many jobs, and could lead to the collapse of those companies.
Can you imagine being driven to work overtime, to help these clowns meet deadlines, not knowing they haven't any intention of paying you!!!

These guys do not deserve any pity .... unfortunately their Race Team Crew are victims of their deceit, just like the contractors !

Having these guys as Race Team owners is more damaging to that series, then losing them ever could be!

Pathetic!

I'm not going to defend what they did, but sometimes it is easy to get caught up in doing "whatever it takes."

There is a reason why racing is often referred to as the Go Fast Crack Pipe.

Racing is full of them, go figure.

Again, not defending/supporting any of Field's actions, but sometimes you read things strange enough that you really do think racing can be an addiction like drugs, alcohol, etc

You have to wonder what they were thinking, I mean you keep hiding that forever, especially when the racing expenses stay ridiculously high. Maybe if he raced a DP he wouldn't have this problem. ;)

Also, didn't Anal Ventor say he did some work on Field's house, I wonder if he was ever not paid.
