From the link "the top nine drivers were covered by just 0.7 seconds!"

Sounds good. Speed is in 6th. I hope he shows as well as that at the end of the race.

I really wish GP2 races were on SpeedNASCAR Channel.

Ya, maybe if Piquet was named Labonte, Rosberg was named Earnhardt, and Lauda Petty it would happen...........

Now, back to an exciting episod of Busch qualifying! Yes, we will interupt the 12-Hours of Sebring so Billy Bob Sixpack can drive his Fat Boy Illustrated Chevy Monte Carlo around whatever super speedway in whatever North Carolina.

Well, at least they won't be following Scott Gaylord in the Boudreaux's Butt Paste car (I'm not kidding). He didn't make the grid after quals. :gomer:

Apparently the first GP2 weekend was a rousing success!

On Friday 16 cars (of 24) broke down for some reason or another. Because they were afraid of all the cars breaking on the starting grid they changed to a rolling start. Then Lapierre broke immediately at the start, then everyone came into the pits at the end of lap one because there are two mandatory stops, and then the whole field was mixed up with wankers and contenders. Meanwhile 13 cars finish, Kovalainen wins, Lopez second, Speed third.

Read grandprix.com for the entire story, I paraphrased.

Yep, Speed in 3rd, a fine debut. I hear Bernie is LIVID at the level of unreliability...in cars that are roughly TWICE as expensive as the F-3000s they replace!

Bernie and Max always act surprised when their clean-sheet-of-paper plans cost actual money and result in reliability issues. As long as the cash register continues to ring, or one or both of them keels over, I don't expect anything different.

Development test planned as GP2 chases reliability

source: crash.net

The GP2 Series has a two-day test planned for Paul Ricard next week, after its race debut was marred by continued unreliability at Imola over the weekend....

they have alot of work to do, sounds like the package right now is unreliable, but then dallara is building the chassis, hard to go from building crapwagons to a real race chassis

So the Dallara LMP1 or the Audi R8 weren't real chassis? :shakehead

You do realize that Dallara has been dominating F3, such that even Lola could barely make a dent in the category.
