I always questioned how safe it was to stand behind those 300 mph bombs when they launch, but I never dreamed that a car could wind up coming back down the strip.

Not a bad idea, but I don't believe they have such a device. The latest Racer has a profile on Scelzi's FC and it simply has a fuel shut off botton to the right of the steering wheel. I saw a similar set up on a recent Windtunnel or something on TV.

Total bummer. No silver lining in this cloud.

While nothing this bizarre has ever happened, over the years there have been other wrecks aggravated when the rear wheels continued to have power after a hard crash.
