“We have designed and built winning cars in the past, including the successful Riley Mk.III from the former IMSA race days and the current Mk.XI, which is experiencing huge success in Grand Am competition for the past two years,” said the younger Riley. “Additionally, the new LeMans rules will be to our advantage because of the specified undertray and our history of optimizing new rules packages. We have proven numerous times that we can build a winning chassis. Now we want to do it with prototypes at LeMans.”

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. ;)

Uh oh, a specified undertray? Doesn't sound high-tech to me. Guess they are dumbing down Le Mans too? :gomer:

So how many of these do you think they'll sell? 2? 3? Less?

Yeah, but their looking for an experienced Autocrosser to drive the thing

There's a bunch of cars parked down at their building of late. Im been getting some parts powder coated and drive by there quite often.

Great news!

This is totally unlike the vaporware "Team Titan" and "Shaw" BS that has been going round of late. Established builder, a reputation for customer-car success... and capital backing provided by the sales of at least 16 Grand Am Riley MkXIs ;)

Should be a great addition to the ALMS grid for 2006!

I'm not the one who started off with the "impossible" and "inconceivable" sarcasm ;)

If Riley can build this anything like the MkIII was in its heyday, we're in for some absolutely great open-top (and closed-top GTP style!) prototype racing. Before the R8 started owning everyone, the MkIII was *the* privateer prototype to have.

They'll also undoubtedly look a hell of a lot better

Haven't Rileys historically been high-downforce machines that are good at American tracks but aren't as competitive on higher speed tracks like Le Mans?
