I've been curious at how splitting their coverage between the ESPN twins had an effect on the ratings for the IRL's rockemsockemrobots event in Homestead. Has anyone heard is it still a .1 or did it split it to two .05's?? :gomer:

I doubt that we'll know until the Joyce Julius reports come out, and that'll be a couple of weeks.

I seriously doubt the IRL will want to brag on this one, and I don't think it will hit the register at Zap2it.com.

The coverage moved from ESPN to the ESPN2?

I was bouncing back to it while watching the Mexico race and suddenly it was gone. I assumed it was just over.

That sure is a dedicated "partner" they have over there.

Last year's race got a .9. This years, got a .6 on ESPN and a .2 on ESPN2. But, there's some mysterious "growth."

Only the gomers could claim growth when the numbers decrease.

Couldn't we say that the irl's attendance continues to be in remission? Sounds pretty positive to me. :gomer:

Up 36%

:gomer: math:

.9 x 136% = (.6 + .2)

:saywhat:

yep that one gets an "F" :shakehead

They probably figure that, since nobody watches the races, nobody will read the press release.

It gained among "key demographics" in other words, more pets who were locked up alone at home that had owners who left the tv on so the poor animals would feel like someone was there, were forced to watch that cr@p because the owners left it on ESPN 2 since they usually have a dog show on! :gomer:

OMG Spicoli, I take back every nasty thing I ever said about you (but I reserve the right to say more nasty things in the future). Now I need a "wipe" for my monitor.
A little bit of talent and a lot of spare time can yield some brilliant results.

Now I get it. The deuce had in car shots only. I missed that. Duh :gomer:

I have to admit I thought the split screen was a good idea and if Disney is going to give them two channels that's not a bad thing. Will they do it when its not March and they have nothing to show though? Seems more appropriate to do that over the internet.

A .2, or a .6, or a .8 is nothing to cheer about no matter how you slice it. History says CCWS won't do much better, but at least people go to those races and T & H aren't dumping millions into it.

Reminds me of pre 96, around 3pm on raceday at Indy in the snakepit. Troopers would roll over every drunk *** face down so they would choke on their vomit.
