Is the triple front wing supposed to give the sharp maneuverability of a tri-plane. (Were Tri-planes more maneuverable than bi-planes?) I thought the purpose of multiple wings on the airplanes was for swift altitude changes.

More wings, more lift (at the expense of other things like drag and weight).

From the FIA Technical Regs (3.7.1) :

All bodywork situated forward of a point lying 330 mm behind the front wheel centre line, and more than 250 mm from the centre line of the car, must be no less than 150 mm and no more than 350 mm above the reference plane.

It's not all that surprising to me that nobody else pursued this option. That's why Ferrari keeps crushing the rest of the field.

We'll see how it works out, but you've got to wonder why Ferrari was the only team to have kept the main plane of the front wing relatively flat in the center while using an auxiliary wing underneath it.

I don't think so. Every article I've read about the launch has indicated that, while they will be racing a modified F2004 early on, they presented the F2005 to the media.

If that is the F-2005 (what imaginitive names Ferrari use these days), it looks the same as a modified F-2004.

Also, who the hell can't figure out that the white bargeboards look **** on a Ferrari.

Yeah, the F2004 was such an unsuccessful and useless POS that the F2005 should have looked nothing like it. They should have clearly gone in the visually appealing direction of the twin keel and tusk nose because of all the championships those concepts have brought. :gomer:
