You think he'll talk all kinds of smack about Webber now?

Me neither.

I hope Nick gets the job and lays an epic smackdown on him.

What happened with Pizzonia?

BMW wants Nic. I'm guessing he'll get the ride and Pizz will stay a test driver.

Webber was a bit quicker than Nick today--looks like a fairly even match up. Nick and Antonio go head to head tomorrow.

Nick should be in that seat. Frank needs to get off the pot and sign him (as long as Williams don't try to pull a RedBull stunt by signing Nick and Pizzonia to an alternating ride deal).

I think the seat is basically Button's next year anyway... so whoever is named the #2 driver is probably only safe for the first few races anyway. I don't think Williams would hesitate to make a change mid-season.

I think Heidfeld would be in the car in Australia if the decision was mine.

Geez, Crapus, I saw your name here and just assumed that you were here offering to take people's money off of them.

F1-Live is reporting that Mark went faster than Nick today, but they were close. I'd like to see Nick get the drive, too -- if any driver has paid his dues (as in driving for mediocre teams while his team-mates move up), it's Nick. I'd love to see what he could do with a (hopefully) competitive Williams BMW.

Heidfeld didn't test today. Webber was fastest with Pizzonia 1.1s behind. Pizzonia and Heidfeld test together tomorrow.

I have a lot of respect for Frank Williams and his eye for talent, but I can't for the life of me understand this infatuation with Antonio Pizzonia.

If it was me, Heidfeld would have been signed to a race contract two months ago.

The choice is clear, Frank. Pizzonia's a great driver, so long as he doesn't have to race anybody.

IIRC they are both signed on to the team--it is only a question of who races v. who is test/reserve driver.

I think the seat is basically Button's next year anyway.

While I agree for the most part a lot can happen in a year.

If Williams builds another duck Jens might have second thoughts about leaving a team built around him.

If either of the quick nick/jungle boy combo trounces Weeber Frank may see enough cheap talent on hand to make him shy away from a bidding war with a now apparently interested Honda.

But yeah, in reality, I'm ready to see Button at Williams.

Probably ran the car underweight. Remember, the World Championship of Winter Testing has little bearing on the F1 World Championship.
