Minardi have filled one of its two vacant seats for next season, hiring Dutch driver Christijian Albers.

The former German Formula 3 champion has competed in the DTM touring car series the last four years. He is no stranger to Minardi, having been their test driver for parts of the 2001 and 2002 seasons.
Albers recently had a test with Champ Car outfit Walker Racing, leading to considerable speculation that he was prepared to move to North America to continue his open wheel racing career.

Crapus told me Minardi hasn't developed its car since August.

Being a Minardi fan is sort of like cheering for the Los Angeles Clippers. You like them, but you know they'll never win. :gomer:

They are, but due to the late tech regs it won't debut until round 4 (Imola).
New chassis + Red Bull spec Cosworth = Good year for we Minardista's :D

I'm a fan!

One of my Favorite F1 Moments was when Mark Weber placed 6th at Australia for them a couple years ago! It was like he won the race... Amazing...

Minardi Rules!

I've cheered for Minardi since the Pierre Luigi Martini days.

Growing up in the northwest taught me that you shouldn't get too caught up on a sports teams results. :D

Didn't he drive for them for a bunch of years? As I recall they had some good results, back then...it is truly amazing what they are doing with their current car which if I am not mistaken was designed by Gustav Brunner way before he left for Toyoter...

Didn't he drive for them for a bunch of years?1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995

As I recall they had some good results, back then...it is truly amazing what they are doing with their current carConsidering its had (very) few new developments since then, yet is only 2 secs further behind everyone than it used to be, its even more impressive 3 years later.
Edit: It was also designed for Michelins, and hasn't been properly modified for the current Bridgestone rubber.

which if I am not mistaken was designed by Gustav Brunner way before he left for Toyoter...Indeed it was. The new car will be designed by Andy Tilley.

As I recall Martini even made the front row of the 1989 Phoenix GP.

But he quickly fell behind. Still, a shining moment.

That was a cool looking car too, wasn't that the yellow and blue livery?
