Canadian Michael Valiante says he's "cautiously optimistic" about his 2005 Champ Car plans. Valiante says since his debut in the season ending race in Mexico and the subsequent two-day test in Florida, interest has been building.

"The Mexico City race seems to have broken the log jam, and two different Champ Car teams are working to find the funding to run me in 2005," he said. "I have to keep up my own sponsor-hunting efforts, but I'm feeling cautiously optimistic."

Dale Coyne Racing, who ran Valiante at the Florida test, and Walker Racing are believed to be the frontrunners for his services.....

Surely some Canadian company has a few bucks they didn't spend on hockey suites this season. :)

That has been one thing that has bugged me about Canadian companies.

There are Canadian companies that have international markets. I have never understood why more Canadian companies haven't used ChampCar to their sponsorship advantage.
