Just wondering what your thoughts are on this software and if you have any comments pro or con. From a user standpoint it seems pretty good. We're looking for something that can be used inhouse for technical application discussions.

I've set up numerous PHPBB sites. It's a clean message board system and best of all it's free! It uses MySQL as it's database which is also free.
It's not as robust as vBulletin, but you can't beat the price.

I like vBulletin a lot. It's easy to run and very complete on the backend. I haven't seen the backend of many other packages, but certainly from the user perspective I think it's the best one out there.

Thanks to both of you for your comments. Been a few days since I've had time to check back.

Edit - my primary concern is not price, but security and amount of time consumed with administration and maintenance. We will have a lot of very proprietary information, not only ours but customers as well, so security is a primary concern every step of the way. If we can't do it securely, then we can't do it at all.
