How come the f1 tracks look as if they are freshly paved at each event? Do they resurface every year? Apply some sort of sealer that gives the fresh look?

I know they redo the ripple strips for every GP, but as far as tarmac goes, not too sure...

They don't repave every year, but to stay on the calendar a high level of maintenence is required. Brazil has gotten away with a pretty bumpy track, but they have also improved it almost every year.

I'd bet a lot of F1 tracks don't see much action the rest of the year.

I know that Sears Point re-paints the white lines and curbing right before the NASCAR weekend each year, which gives the impression of a "new" track.
