Who wants some of that action? I'll take 10-1 on Massa.

I think you're probably right but 10-1 odds are too sweet to pass up.

mark me down for a hunnert

Dirty Sanchez

errrr... maybe I wrote it wrong... or maybe you read it wrong... not really sure. 10-1 odds on Massa would mean $100 bet pays $1000 if Villeneuve loses. Not the other way around.

[edit]Massa has never beaten his teammate. JV is a defending world champ. That's why I'm setting the odds against Massa at 10-1.

Hell hater I thought you were just that sure of your boy.

You want a straight bet or are you just giving Massa a 10% shot at outscoring Newtown?

Dirty Sanchez

hater

more like gambler :gomer:

Massa has never beaten his teammate. JV is regarded by many as Championship material (not me). Should be an easy kill for him... just like Button. :p

I would imagine the real line is not far off... either way... odds are against Massa (I don't care who's setting the line).

Dr. Corkski

Just how can you bet against JV, 5 time CART winner, an Atlantics and CART champion, Indy 500 winner, 11 F1 race wins, and a WDC?

Just make sure you ignore that most of those happened before Massa even reached puberty.

Railbird
10-26-04, 09:19 PM
Corkski makes the point Crapus, Massa is the rising star while JV is the aging unemployed ex-whatever. I don't see the 10-1 favorage.

Does anyone set this line?

A prop bet in Monte Carlo perhaps?

It wouldn't suprise me in the least considering some of the Nascar propostion wagering I've seen in Las Vegas.

I am sure Crapus set it for the fanboys who can't see that because they are too busy blaming David Richards for clubbing baby seals.

Railbird
10-26-04, 09:45 PM
Well, imo, Richards pretty much stumbled into a sweet situation with Willis onboard and Honda finaly coming to their senses somewhat. But,in the mean time, he's somehow managed to pizzoff the chosen boywonder.

You had me. Right up to the point where you claimed Atlantics champ.

All bets are off now.

Id throw some money down on Massa if he gets some good Practice/Testing in the off season. Hes got the speed, just needs a bit of Consistency.

As a Villeneuve fanboy, I totally agree with this.

I think all it's going to take is one discouraging result and it's probably over for him.

When Sauber hired him he was unemployed.

For sure, Massa is the man and Villenueve is waaaaaaaaaay overated. I'd take Niki Lauda back before Jacques anyday....

BTW, Massa will out qualify Villenueve every race but 3. And, those 3 will be because Felipe went off or something.

After seeing JV in mop up duty at the end of this past season he'd better pull up the boot straps or he'll not get to finish the year. Thats my bet. Maybe he should consult fellow canuck, by birth, PT and get his pre season training sheduale. It seemed to work for Paul a couple years ago when he lost like half his weight and then he was champion.

From the press releases I have seen Williams are very impressed with quick Nick!

I really would like to see him get a good ride and show what he has.

Forza Lancia
12-03-04, 12:16 PM
I agree with Cam. I'd love to see Nick in the Williams next year -- he has never had the chance to show what he can do with a good Formula 1 car. Maybe the current spat between Webber and Pizzonia will help pursuade Williams to give the second car to Heidfeld, although it seems that Williams has never been too concerned about how their drivers get along with each other.

Realizing that this is testing....

But, if Jacques has the speed the "crowd" thing will present little if any problems. Of those on the '05 grid only JV and JPM have shown the grit to actually take the fight to Scummy.

And no, I'm not forgetting Kimi, I admire his pace but I've yet to see him force the issue when the chips are down.

Now back to the fact that this is very early testing...

Dirty Sanchez
12-04-04, 02:59 PM
considering that they aren't even running '05 spec cars with Monza-like downforce... yeah... its early days.

I still stand by my prediction, but I hope Cheques keeps it up. I'll have the fish jumping in the boat before too long :gomer:

I doubt anyone taking those odds would have the wherewithal to actually own a benjiman.

True enough, but they ARE running o4 cars with 05 pieces on them. And, one has to wonder if Sauber is yet running the 04 Ferrari engine, or the Michelin tires that it intends to run next season.

I am of the opinion that certain drivers are victims of terrible luck that seems to for whatever reason fall on them in a given season. Villeneuve in his last season at BAR was one of those; Zanardi at Williams was another example. Give him time to get the reactions back in tune and he might be very fast.

Even money I take Villeneuve. I think 10-1 on JV is to great an advantage. Maybe 3-1.
