I remember lots of outrage when Pedro intentially was throwing at heads, oh ya, everyone was up in arms. "How dare zimmer go after him!"

good call reversal. when he touched the glove that had the ball in it, he was out. His comments later were correct when he said he should have just run into him. Yes, just like a catcher, if the player drops the ball without tagging the runner, the runner is safe. The runner was tagged when he slapped the glove.

At the risk of bringing up skeletons, Red Sox did not lose that series because of Bill Buckner, as did the Cubs not lose because of the guy in the stands.

i disagree.

bartman did cause the cubs to lose because he shattered momentum. true, the cubs (more specifically dusty baker) screwed themselves with their play on the field, but the way i see it, if the ball was further in the stands than it was, then the collassal meltdown doesn't happen. there would have not been the perception that alou catches the ball. i guarantee you that after that play prior tried too hard to get derrek lee out. if there was no attempted play, i don't think that prior tries to compensate for that and overthrow the next pitch. maybe prior still gives up a run and maybe gonzales still makes the error, but the curse factor would never have come up in the players minds. it was said that after the "incident" the players really started to believe that there actually was a curse.

now with that said, if the sox go out in flaming fashion tonight, boston may not win again for another 20 years.

The perfect World Series.....Red Sox and the Cubs, 3 games apiece, game7 tied in the 9th and both teams walk off the field.....that would be poetic!

The night the curses died.....

they choked, plain and simple, players are there to execute and be mentally prepared. not think about "curses" just because a break went the other way, it's sports, it happens

Red Sox fans don't hate Clemens because he threw a ball and bat at Piazza. We hate him because he stunk it up and wanted a monster contract. Then stomped out when he didn't get it.

When Pedro through at temple's it was when he was at the tiop of his game. He was just messing with the competition's head, literally. ;)

There is no Boston Garden anymore. ;)
