per sportsbybrooks (http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/):

The Performance Racing Network (PRN) announced it will produce a kids-oriented broadcast of the NASCAR Busch Series SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 300 on October 15.

PRN GM Doug Rice: "This will be the first time a radio network produces a race broadcast geared specially towards kids."

Think they'll have in-car radio feeds? :)

Yeah, let's all mock NASCAR for trying to recruit younger fans while Champ Car's just get older and older...

Although I do have to say that I question the ethics involved in targeting children with a series sponsored by Busch.

I'm doing my part with my boys.

Yes they know who some of the Nascar drivers are.....but if you ask them who their favorite race car drivers are, here are some of the answers you get....

Ryan Hunter Reay
Bruno Juniqueria
"The Blue Guys" (Renault F1)
Memo Gidley
JJ Lehto

They love wearing their Champ Car and ALMS shirts. Listening to them explain "other" (than Nascar) racing is very entertaining. They think that all
their friends should know what a P1 or a Touring Car is.

Sean did hit it on the head. If you don't recruit younger fans, where is the future. Road America actually has a Kids Club that you can sign up for, the boys love it when they get birthday cards from a race track. Wouldn't it be cool for Nicholas to get a birthday card from Champ Car with a RHR trading card in it. (sure beats Pokemon)
