I'm noticing an increased tendency for people to cut and paste entire articles into the forums. It would be preferable to quote a few paragraphs and post a link. It controls our bandwidth and helps us avoid the unwanted attentions of copyright police.

If you're just trying to avoid links that require registration, try Google News (http://news.google.com). Often you can find the same story on another site that doesn't require registration.

What about people who copy an entire post, when they are the first person to reply? Is that a problem too?

Generally those people receive enough ridicule from their peers to keep that problem under control.

Since you're covertly addressing ME... :D

I was unaware of that google news deal, so that's the way to do it, I guess. Getting around registration was exactly what I was trying to do. Thanks!
