Well, we all marveled over the dedication, workmanship and of course the expense. Was it shot down, or was it the dread 7 engine approach.....? :( Bummer.

Wow! Too bad. All those manhours building that thing for it too end in a flaming heap. :(

The crash did make one thing clear. They used a foam core with a skin and stringer/spar for the wing. Your basic surfboard/B52 wing. I was wondering what they did to get the weight down to where 8 of those little motors would get it off the ground.

I'd hate to be the "pilot" who took her in.

Does anyone have the link for the Ferrari model? Told a buddy about it and I can't seem to find it.

It's a good thing I don't make models as an adult. Every plane and car model I made as a kid ended up either thrown out of an upper level window or blown up with firecrackers or both!

Hey, maybe these guys...naa. :)

I'll say the same thing I did the last time I saw that when someone posted it at 7G - one word - "Un-Friggin-believable"....
Dude should have that thing put in a Ferrari museum and be given a real one (pretty much any modern day Ferrari) for FREE !!!!

yeah it is pretty incredible, can't believe he built the entire engine and gearbox in working condition, including the dry sump system.... wow

So did they find the blackbox among the wreckage? Any commentary on the net about just what went wrong?

I'm not sure it was a good idea to fly this beast with threatening skies overhead. It never looked very stable to begin with and a gust or crosswind may have pushed it into a spin before the "pilot" could recover.

Damn thing will play for me until just after it takes off and starts to bank. Then it quits. WTF?

That's spooky. I've seen actual B-52 wreckage, and aside from the obvious RC parts, that's pretty much what it looks like. :(

It did look like he was fighting it right from takeoff.
