emails from unknown people that say stuff like "call me, I need to talk to you immediately" and stuff like that? I'll get one every so often and I'll get several copies at a time.

Just curious

Nope. But I DO get a ton of unsolicited stuff that says....

"Dear Mapguy, your order of Viagra is ready to be shipped" and crap of this nature. :saywhat:

Probably just spam fishing for valid addresses. A lot of folks will probably reply saying, "Who are you?" and then their spam multiplies by 100.

I started getting them shortly after sending my long lost uncle's lawyer some money. I was informed that he had met and unfortunate demise and had passed on. The lawyer was somewhere in Nigeria and need a little front money to get my inheritance out of probate court or something like that. At first it was only supposed to be a couple of hundred dollars but, the cost keeps getting higher and higher to get it pushed through the court system over there.

It doesn't matter though, when this gets taken care of, I'll be a millionaire.

I get emails from him all the time such as the one you posted. Well off to Western Union to wire a payment.

Depends - on my Comcast address, I don't get much of it. On my Speedracer account - ye gods! Just my rule of thumb, if I don't know anyone named n7zier77099999, I tend not to open them.

Dear Hayes,

This letter is not intended to cause any embarrassment in
whatever form, rather it is intended to contact your
esteemed self, following the knowledge of your high repute
and trust worthiness.Firstly,I must solicit your
confidentiality. I know that a proposal of this magnitude
will make anyone apprehensive and worried, but I am assuring
you that it is made in good faith and will be of mutual
benefit.

I am Barrister George Kenny Okoro Senior Advocate in Nigeria
(SAN),the personal attorney to Mr.Kenneth Hayes, herein
after referred to as my client,a national of your country,
who used to work with ShellPetroleum Development Company in
Nigeria. My client and his entire family were
involved in a fatal motor accident, which unfortunately
claimed their lives, along the Sagamu express road, sparing
none of the occupants of the vehicle.I have since then made
several enquiries to your Embassy, in a bid to locate any
relation of my late client, and these efforts of mine have
not been productive.

I came across your name during my search which is why I
have contacted you to assist me in securing the money and
property left behind by my client before they are declared
as unclaimed and unserviceable by the First Bank of
Nigeria (FBN) where the have been lodged for safekeeping
by the Federal Goverment of Nigeria.I am particularly
interested in securing this contract fund balance with
Federal Ministry of Finance (FMF),totaling Thirty Million
United States Dollar(USD30M)This is because the said Bank
has issued a notice to me, unequivocally instructing me to
produce the Next of Kin to the said account within the next
fourteen official working days, or have the account
confiscated.

Considering my lack of success in my bid to locate his
relatives for over two years, I solicit your consent to
enable me produce you as the Next of Kin to my deceased
client, since you both bear the same last name. The funds
will then be transferred to you as the beneficiary and
shared according to a proposed sharing pattern /ratio of
60:40 i.e. 60% for me and 40% for you.
I will provide all the necessary and legally obtained
documents to back up any claim we make regarding this
process, and will just require your understanding and
cooperation to enable us achieve success within a
legitimate arrangement,eliminating any liability resulting
from any breach of the prevalent laws.
Your urgent response will be highly appreciated. My direct
contacts have been provided; use same accordingly for
effective communication. You can as well forward to me your
Tell/Fax number immediately for more clearification on my
late client.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Barrister George Kenny Okoro(SAN).

Sorry 'nut, but I don't think OC is the place for someone with these characteristics. You'll have to leave at once ;)
