The overnight for Kentucky was rumored to be a .7 for ABC. :gomer: Would that be a new all time low for openwheel on a network?

I don't think so. Someone here probably has the ratings, but I'm pretty sure they pulled a .4 or .5 last year on a network.

It's all about the version.

By getting really low ratings, when Tony brings in the road courses next year, he can claim a big victory by posting a .8 rating.

Read the latest version. You'll understand.

CART was pulling ratings around there too, although things had improved a lot by mid-season, back over 1.0 for most races.

A guy used to have a really good web site but I think it's dead, called motorsportstv or something like that.

.7 was the IRL's lowest network rating last year. A feat they "accomplished" 3 times.

This is about the IRL, not CART.

You don't suppose ol' TunnelVisionMan noticed, did ya?

I recall ChampCar getting dumped on because a 1.0 (or around there) was about the same ratings as infomercials would get on network tv. Where are all the critics? I see they've been replaced with delusional voices of "stay the course" and "the sport is growing"

The only reason motorsports TV went down is because Nascar hired that guy. That was a great website.....Also I think he's open to offers if someone wanted to buy it and start it up again.

Quote from JoeBob:

Kentucky has been on ABC since 2001 (in 2000, they were on ESPN.)
In 2001, Kentucky got a 1.1 on ABC
In 2002, Kentucky got a .9 on ABC
In 2003, Kentucky got a .8 on ABC
In 2004, Kentucky got a .7 overnight rating on ABC

IRL growth by the numbers.

perhaps they think it's like golf, the lower the score the better.

indeed, the luxury of a broadcast TV partner was not for Champcars

I wonder what the odds of Tony's horse coming in, are now? :D

Fontucky on ABC. 0.7 overtnite and 0.5 final, if my sources are correct.

The Best thing about Spike Tv is we don't focus on dismal ratings anymore, maybe the IRL should move to Spike. :D
