Two cars got into it, tumbled down the track...still working on one driver.

(It's on Speed)

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital.

Notice how they never showed a replay? That's usually not a good sign. They are back to racing, but no word yet on the driver's condition.

The roll cage looked intact to me, but they really didn't show the car too much after tha accident.

i thought it failed too, but i kind of caught it out of the corner of my eye, didn't get a real good look. man, that was a big hit. hope he's ok.

one side of the cage was broken, that was a bad spill. Not looking good.

On a brighter note, did anyone else catch the huge Champcar decal on Joey Saldana's front wing?

Yeah, I was really surprised to see that, but pleasantly so. Nice to see them marketing the series in other types of events.

Doesn't Jimmy Vasser own a team in this series? If so, maybe Saldana's his driver, which would explain the champcar sticker.

Any word on the injured driver?

The wreck was pretty bad. Too bad Saldana stuffed it early on.

Speednews replayed the wreck and just said hes in the hospital with critical head injuries! :( :eek:

There was an update posted today on the Knoxville Raceway website. He is stable, but still listed in critical condition.

I talked to a friend who was there. He has pictures of the car but I haven't seen them yet. He said the car looked like it had been hit by a tornado. The top of it was twisted and torn off.

Jimmy used to be part owner of a car driven by Greg Haudnet wrenched by Guy Forbrook. It used to carry a Ganassi sticker.
