Interesting article (http://www.champcarworldseries.com/News/Article.asp?ID=8109) on wind tunnel testing to determine what aero package to use at Las Vegas.

“We could make it so the cars would be flat (full throttle) all the way around the track,” Dykstra said. “But that is not a situation we want our guys to be in. We want to set it up so they have to drive the car and use their skills. By taking out some of the downforce, we will give them cars that are challenging to drive while still being very competitive.”

They don't reveal what they decided on however.

One other thing Dykstra has not thought about

Teams dying after they wipe their cars out on an oval............

I wonder if they will come up with something like the pre-Handford Device set up? Front and rear wings supplying downforce but mostly being trim tabs to stick the front and rear better as the conditions change and tunnel blockers to cut the ultimate downforce from the undertray.

ps Kalhoven better order up some new right front suspension bits, since I'm thinking some of the guys are going to find the wall with terminal understeer when they get in the gray. The accidents will be a lot different from the IRL jobs where they take out two or three corners of the car and the gearbox.

Nice little dig at the EARL in there, too. We could make so they're flat out all around, but we want to make it so the drivers have to drive.
