Come git some.

I am too lazy to do all the captions right now (after spending way too much time getting these shots ready for upload). I figured it might be fun if y'all can take a shot at identifying some of these beauties. Please post a comment... it will help me complete these captions. The entry list is somewhere on Road America's website if ya wanna cheat (I'm guessing a lot of you guys won't have to cheat ;) )

Thanks!

Same camera and lens combo that I used in Magny-Cours. I did spent a LOT more time in photoshop experimenting with color balance/levels/contrast, etc. I even tried to get a little artistic with a few images.

Enjoy!

Great stuff, I always liked the Player's F1 cars as a kid. One of the dudes driving was really hustling one of them around...good to see the car being stretched a little

AWESOME pics, dude !

btw: anyone know what kind of motors they are running in the ex-CART cars?

Do they run normally aspirated V8s ?

And anyone wanna take a guess at the cost it takes to keep one of the older F1 cars in "running order"? These privateers have got to have some serious coin for this kind of hobby....

Thanks again for the photos !!!! :D

This one looks to have a pop-off valve.

The late-model F1 and Champcar group included one blue POS running a normally aspirated V8. It sucked, but it was funny watching it try to brake and shift.

Cooper-Avon sells proper Champ Car tyres to the public.

You can also get F5000 tyres and F1 radial slicks.

Crapus, SPECTACULAR pics, man.

The Lola Shell Champ Car looks like it does NOT have a pop-off valve....

So I guess, for the those of you who were there, did you see any of the engine covers off in the pit \ garage area ?

Just think what it would cost to have regular maintenance and tear downs on one of the old Cosworth turbos, or any of the other manufacturer engines (Honda, Merc, or Early Yoda motors ????)....

I can only imagine how much it must cost for tires, gas, oil, and the occasional body work repairs during the course of a year !
