I don't know if this has been posted yet, but it looks like Michael Valiante will FINALLY make his champcar debut at Vancouver on the 25th. Nelson Phillipe is still out trying to get the band back together....

At the end of the day, what better place to make your debut then your home town? Good luck Michael!

Awesome! Rocketsports is capable of putting a decent car under him too. Hopefully this will be the first of many runs for him - and it will be great to see him debut at his home track.

Sorry that Memo won't get more time in the seat but Valiente as certainly earned a shot.

They're really big in Belgium.

Also remember that Memo has a contract to run the full season in SCCA SPEED World Challenge Touring Cars, which have a conflicting race weekend at Portland. There's no way he could do both, and likely the season-contract took precedence.

He might have an option if he got an offer for champ cars or irl, though.

Valiente will be in the Rocketsports entry...NOT! (not this weekend in question, anyway)

No luck with Walker either?

That's what I thought...but I've never been happier to be wrong. :)

Gidley got the ride for Vancouver, not Valiante.

And I'll still be able to see him race in the Portland ALMS on the same weekend. Cool!

Yup, Gidley will be in the car. It seems Lease Plan wants to stay on the car and that has some kind of conflict with Valiante's sponsor.

Maybe Michael will finally become a Champcar driver when he turns 30..... :shakehead

1. So LeasePlan AND AFR are sponsoring the #17 this weekend? The press release didn't mention LeasePlan (but then again Toronto's didn't mention them either, at least not initially).

2. This sponsor wasn't acceptable to Walker?
