And to quote the "great racer" Eddie Cheever, "Richmond is like flying a jet in a bathroom," or something to that extent.

This race should get real, uhmmm, interesting real quick!

Cheever compared it to "jet fighters in a gymnasium", but I think it is more like "gnats in a blender".

What were the Champ Car speeds/times on that track this year?

This will be the best Earl race of the year. Can you imagine a sub 15 second lap time? What is the point? There will be more smash ups than a combine demo derby. Fifteen second laps? WOW. This is like watching a midget at the SpeedDrome. I cannot fathom racing a car of this speed on a track of this lenght. It makes no sense, and is a recipt for disaster.

Where is Little Sarah when you need her?

Watch for major, major contact.

If anyone knows, do they actually shift on these laps, are they flat out due to a high gear ratio, or do they lift some in the corners?

Looks like Widdle Al was having lots of trouble with that square drink bottle holder in his Dallara.

Mr. Ed is starting to go fast enough to make the next wall hit really smart.

And AJ4 shows once more that to be Foyt is Futile.

Good grief, Al is 1.25 seconds off the pace! Are they already in fuel conservation mode?

That all depends on whether the square drink bottle holder is sized for 750ml or 1000ml ...

I can see it now

In a re-enactment of his famous "timed stop" at Indy in '82 Patrick is perched on the wall, broom handle in hand, as Junior comes in for his last stop.

But alas, much like lil Al, the years have taken their toll on the ol' Wildcatter and he mistakenly proceeds to flail Brian Barnhardt about the head and shoulders while shouting "Go Gordy go!"

It would appear that Eye Vee is getting tuned up for the AJ Deuce and a Quarter next month.

Mr. Ed and Gweggie Ray get high and brush the wall on lap 246. Which leads to a late race cautiong, the yellow, green and white, and Castroneves getting demoted to third for Passing Under the Yellow!
