Words fail me. This has to be the ugliest thing to hit a race track in a long time. Even uglier than earlier crapwagons.

Look at the size of that rear wing? You could park a 747 on it.

and that car is not half as bad looking as the chassis being used by Penske.

Yep, here's Dashley's version.

That rear wing is hideous, they could use it as a rumble seat for a spotter and a riding mechanic.

Other than the size of the endplates, they look like road course wings.

You know, the road course wings that will make Milwaukee a watchable race again.

Or the ones that might have saved Chicago...

Looks like a great place to put nut's and bolts when doing engine work.

This is a pretty good shot of the road course package for the 1993 Lola -- from a period that many hold up as one of the finest in CART from the aerodynamic standpoint.

If you care to look closely at this and other pictures on the 'net you can see that there is significantly less undercamber in the the airfoil section of the rear wing main plane, less depth of section, and a narrower chord as well. Note also the different section and chord of the front wings.

This is why some of us call the IRL mandated wing package barn doors.

The thing that strikes me about Dashley's car, other than the rear wing that looks like it came off of a '74 Eagle, is the sponsor-Alpine. Alpine is Honda.

And Mikey said it wasn't Honda that was funding his move to crapwagans. Tells us some more BS Mikey.

I have serious concerns about a car being able to go straight up the nose and kill a driver. The angle even with the bulge appears to be to low and would send the front end of the car right at the helmet. I also think bad things are going to happen the first time (first race) when one of these things goes upside down.

Maybe they've finally solved the breaking back syndrome of the gearbox and replaced it with compressed spinal fractures.
