I did this last year and there seemed to be some interest. Let me know if you guys want me to keep posting this stuff.

Basically, I calculated the current ChampCar standings using other point systems. I used last year's CART system and the current F1, IRL and NASCAR systems.

So, here they are (Top 10 only).

ChampCar World Series Point Standings

1 Junqueira 105 0
2 Carpentier 99 -6
3 Bourdais 98 -7
4 Tracy 79 -26
5 Hunter-Reay 75 -30
6 Wilson 71 -34
7 Dominguez 66 -39
8 Tagliani 63 -42
9 Allmendinger 54 -51
10 Jourdain 52 -53
10 Vasser 52 -53

CART Point Standings

1 Bourdais 60 0
2 Junqueira 58 -2
3 Carpentier 52 -8
4 Tracy 41 -19
5 Hunter-Reay 34 -26
6 Dominguez 29 -31
7 Wilson 28 -32
8 Tagliani 21 -39
9 Allmendinger 19 -41
10 Jourdain 18 -42
10 Vasser 18 -42

F1 Point Standings

1 Junqueira 27 0
2 Bourdais 26 -1
3 Carpentier 23 -4
4 Tracy 18 -9
5 Hunter-Reay 13 -14
6 Dominguez 11 -16
7 Wilson 10 -17
8 Tagliani 7 -20
8 Allmendinger 7 -20
10 Jourdain 6 -21
10 Vasser 6 -21

IRL Point Standings

1 Bourdais 153 0
2 Junqueira 148 -5
3 Carpentier 136 -17
4 Tracy 127 -26
5 Hunter-Reay 121 -32
6 Wilson 105 -48
7 Dominguez 102 -51
8 Tagliani 97 -56
9 Allmendinger 89 -64
9 Jourdain 89 -64

The IRL screws Jimmy out of the Top 10. He's at 11 with 88 points. Just in case you actually needed another reason to hate the IRL. ;)

NASCAR Point Standings
1 Junqueira 670 0
2 Carpentier 660 -10
3 Bourdais 654 -16
4 Tracy 618 -52
5 Hunter-Reay 605 -65
6 Wilson 590 -80
7 Dominguez 579 -91
8 Tagliani 572 -98
9 Jourdain 546 -124
10 Allmendinger 544 -126
10 Vasser 544 -126

So Junky is at the top in three standings and Bourdais has the other two. I personally think this is Junqueira's year. He drives the most consistently and finishes well. Bourdais has some trouble coming this season. Whether it is bad strategy/luck, DNFs or pit problems, he's going to either finish near the front or near the back more often than Junqueira in my opinion. Sorry PT, you're my guy, but things don't look good. N/H has something extra this year. You may be looking at a repeat of the TKG situation with a fall off having three drivers.

Go Ryan, fifth in all of them! Of course I would like to see him in the top spot at the end of the season, but fifth place so far is pretty good.
