ESPN News reported that SMI is about to give the IRL its walking papers at TMS for one of the races. Seems it's in the way of NASCAR.

That seems so odd. The IRL fans on another board said this wouldn't happen. Bruttie makes SO much money from the IRL, he'd just slot NASCAR in and keep both IRL races. Wha happaned?

Now with Nazareth also gone, and the Phoenix date either being moved or looking iffy, the IRL can make room for those road races... that its fanbase has been demanding for SO long.

Sorry IRL'ers. But since today seems to be song day...

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the CART fans a dime in your prime, didn’t you?
People’d call, say, beware doll, you’re bound to fall
You thought they were all kiddin’ you
You used to laugh about
the CARTers that was hangin’ out
Now you don’t talk so loud
Now you don’t seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next wheel.
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Ain’t it hard when you discover that
Indy really wasn’t where it’s at
How does it feel
To be without any spunk
Like a complete lump
Like NASCAR's punk
How does it feel

Uh oh! Wasn't TMS their biggest draw apart from the Irrelevant-497? Someone forgot to tell Eddie Gossage how fast EARL is growing

If/when the IRL loses Phoenix, Naz, and Texas II and replaces them with road courses, will the Lemmings say that the IRL was "abandoning ovals"?
