That's a bit more interesting

Surprised they posted it without the Yoke logos, etc. I'd want that as a sponsor

Sneak preview. The paints still drying. :)

Whilst it won't go down in the annuals of Japanese weather history, it's an improvement :)

Would be ice to see some colorful designs at the bottom.

They still have time.

Damn, they won't create their own yellow flags anymore!

And look in the background... it's the rarest sighting since the dodo - a COYNE BACKUP CAR! :D

r2c- you're right. I've never been a big fan of black paint on ChampCars, but the yellow perks it up. Then again, it opens the door for "bee" jokes.

Presumably, the logos will be the color added to the sidepods. These could end up being the best looking Coyne Cars ever.

Of course, that doesn't take a whole lot. :) (Maybe the Herdez cars, when they had the Herdez sponsorship were nicer?)

The TSG car wasn't bad looking...

Wow. If Dale can afford to send cars to the spray booth his sponsor checks must be clearing. :)

One less rolling banana on the grid.

We'd better watch out or we might end up with the most photogenic group of champ cars since the Kool Green cars were in the field. That makes for some good photo ops! :)

These cars are so beautiful on their own, but a great paint job make them just that much better. It's nice having teams that can afford to paint their cars again!

Cool. Now Jenkins will have to come up with something better than "the other yellow car".

There was a pic of Coyne testing at Chicagoland. Why test there?

He has 1/3 interest in the oval and dragstrip and his shop is in the Chicago area so it is a short haul. And, I suppose if you own the place you get to use it for free. ;)

What are the chances that Phil Giebler wants to return to turning left and right? Did he supply the sponsor for this POS?

DO NOT make fun of Coyne. He is a more pure racer than anyone else on the grid.

That may be, but the pure racer needs someone on his team that can screw cars together well enough to last more than a dozen laps.

its actually a lot less then that, but but he is still, basically, one of 3 partners.

Didn't know about that connection. Still not sure what good testing there does, the track is like nothing Champ Cars will race on this year.

1. Yes, he most certainly does (no matter what David Phillips thinks).
2. The team was already sponsored, and the sponsor wanted him.

That's what people said about Mark Donohue driving 'round and 'round a skidpad, and his results weren't too shabby!

At this point any running time the two Coyne cars and drivers get is a plus.
