Airton Dare hasn’t forgotten the good times he had in the IRL, which included one win. Tony George’s league is where he’s set his sights – as long as the last name “Foyt” isn’t in the cards. “It’s a shame to say, but the old man’s just obsolete,” says Dare, who spent a portion of his IndyCar career driving for A.J. Foyt Racing. “He wants to make the setups himself, using the same standards from his driving days. But technology has come a long way in the past 30 years. Perhaps [A.J. Foyt IV] could learn and improve if he were in a different team, without his grandfather complicating everything around him.”

Glad to see Hoover Orsi is racing. However, I wish it was a Champ Car :(

Are A.J.'s setups from his old Watson Roadster days? Well, that explains a lot!

his setups aren't, but his methods are. Dare should have known better and probably did but was jst ayoung guy hoping to get a better deal if he could hustle that box around.

I too would like to see Orsi get a shot in a ChampCar

Give AJ some credit. They aren't that old. They are the same setups he used on his '77 Coyote.

The trick is, to select the correct hammer before you give the suspension a few whacks. Craftsman sells a large selection of hammers, all with a lifetime guarantee.

The other trick is to get the special pop off valve or rev limiter, and to pour a little Kickapoo Joy Juice in the tank on Pole Day.

After Kenny's win A.J. figured he could take the same approach, but he fumbled badly and didn't use his time wisely, wasting it when he should have had his drivers on the track... he fell and didn't get back up. His timeline stops in 1999 (http://www.foytracing.com/AJFoyt/aj_timeline.html). Brack's 3 wins and Championship in 98'... lone Indy win for 99'. The most Salazar, Beechler or Dare could do was scratch out a single win. IV and Larry won't ever get on the scorecard. It would be interesting to see what a good driver might do in AJ's Toyota.
