According to AR1, this is the new track layout. It's still short, but it looks like it will be racier than last year's.

Wow, that looks like it could be almost a 1.5 mile circuit, now. How thrilling! Golly, lap speeds may approach 75 mph! (don't mind me, I'm still reeling from the thought that we can do another one of these things in Houston next year and drop Road America. "Real Racing, Real Sport, Fake Tracks!" Hope all you beautiful people enjoy the "Events.". I'll go watch Can Am Thunder)

Could anything be LESS racier?

I never thought CART would race on a circuit worse than Denver.

Then they went back to Miami.

Racier than last year's ... by God it should be ...

Sub 2 mile street courses are indicative of poor planning. Sub 2.5 is even questionable.

Hey, progress is progress. Remember that such popular tracks as LB and Cleveland have gone through various formats over the years.

I agree whole-heartedly, but like turn1 said, progress is progress. Miami is too good of a market to bail on just yet.

And, more importantly, I have not had the opportunity to enjoy a race in the Land of South Beach! While the Denver race needs work on the course and surface, it was enjoyable overall to visit. How often can you watch qualifying from the blue line of a hockey rink? I can only imagine the joy of visiting Miami!

"...too good a market to bail on..." I'm not complaining about the markets, it's the TRACKS that stink!

This would be the proper modification to Miami:

In my humble opinion anyway. ;) :D

Neither of those would work. The bridges south of the American Airlines Arena go to the port of miami. On each weekend day there's probably 50,000 cruise passengers boarding or disembarking from the port, not to mention the cargo ships, and all of the trucks required to service the cruiseships.

Those roads can't be blocked under any circumstances.

That's why I pushed the envelope with mine just a little bit. :) I've been on one of those cruise ships and know that that is the ONLY road to that cruise terminal island.

Maybe this one. Only I would move the course away from the hotel at the very right just a little for some runoff and access. Use the parking lots like in the previous track I posted. :D
