During the weekend of the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix, McLaren boss Ron Dennis took time out with reporters to talk about the late Ayrton Senna, who will be remembered at this weekend's San Marino Grand Prix, 10 years after his tragic death at the Imola circuit. While Dennis refrained from discussing the particulars of the accident or the situation at Williams-Renault during that time, the McLaren boss gives an indepth look at a complex individual many consider to be the greatest F1 racer of his generation.

Thanks Devilmaster - great read! It was interesting to read Dennis' thoughts regarding the possibility of trying to get Senna out of his Williams contract after Australia 1993 and how interested Senna was in Peugeot's manufacturer support. Senna drove spendidly in his last 2 races with McLaren - Japan and Australia.

Having been a fan of Alain Prost, it was hard to get to like Senna because of the friction between them and the fact Senna no doubt was the faster driver.

Many of us fans never saw the human side to Senna until he died, that was a shame. The thing I was convinced of was that Senna would break all the records. Sadly he did not..... :(
